On September 7th, 1977, in Kingston Jamaica a star was born. Parent’s Tanga & Earl realized early that their daughter Tanganyika a.k.a. “T” loved to sing, rap, and write poetry. Tanganyika grew up in Lynwood California. The streets there were rough, to keep her sheltered her mother decided to put her in private school.
Tanganyika attended Temple Baptist School of Tustin California from age 6-until 5th grade. During these years Tanganyika’s writing skills were perfected, she wrote poems everyday some of them so good that they won prizes and publication in the schools newsletter. When Tanganyika was 11 her mother decided it was time to move the family away from Lynwood. They then moved to Colton California. Tanga could see that she needed to invest in and nurture Tanganyika’s ability to write poetry. She signed Tanganyika up at the Colton Arts Center; their Tanganyika learned to do her poetry as spoken word. She entered several talent shows and begun winning and performing all over Southern California.
At the age of 14, Tanganyika was selected to participate in California Avid program. It was then that her mother bought Tanganyika her first keyboard. After about six months Tanganyika was able to play most melodies that she could hear. Determined to go to college Tanganyika joined the basketball team, the BSU, and the track team. In May of 1996 Tanganyika received a full ride scholarship top Arizona State University. In 2001 Tanganyika graduated college and moved to Sacramento to bury her mother and be closer to family. She lived with her grandmother and decided to open a recording studio Mo-Money Productions (MMP) was born. She spent the next two years buying equipment, and producing beats for friends. To generate more funds for the studio T started a Dj service. In 2004, MMP Entertainment was a full business with 6 artists. Tanganyika’s dream is now a reality, with continuous rising success!
