Ann Carter

Born and raised in Sacramento, CA, Ann Carter is a hip hop artist who speaks truth, and puts her heart in her music. Influenced by artists MC Lyte, Queen Latifan and Salt N Pepa, Ann plans to follow suit with confidence, class, and the ability to stay positive. One of Ann’s favorite quotes is “Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you choose to react to it.

Ever since elementary school, Ann has written numerous amounts of short stories and poems, and was always selected for school plays.
She stayed at the top of her English class. In her writing, she releases every single emotion.

In 1997, Ann met producer/drummer Lance “L Boogie” Carter. L Boogie is the eldest child of a musically gifted family. (Brothers Terrell “G.R.” Carter and Tracy Carter are known artists in the industry.)From that point, Ann began to take her writing one step further. Poems became lyrics. Lyrics became songs. Ann Carter was born.

Ann Carter has featured on two released projects:
Nico’s “Doin’ The Damn Thang”
GMenace’s “Live Yo Life”
She is currently working on her debut album, which features production from L Boogie, Trayc, A. Steele, and Taurus Noctavius.
